Meet the Ladbrook UK Team - Michael Peake
Michael has been with Ladbrook UK for over 19 years. Starting his career on the factory floor, he's worked his way up to become the company’s Commercial Director. Here, we look at Michael’s role, what makes him such an important part of our team, and what this means for our customers.
A career built on passion and growth
Michael joined Ladbrook UK in 2005 after completing a BTEC in CAD and an A Level in Business Studies. Initially starting in a part-time role on the factory floor, it wasn’t long before his potential was spotted. With a recommendation from his college tutor, Michael got in touch with David Spinks, now retired, and from there, he began his journey within the company. What started as a part-time position quickly turned into a full-time opportunity, and he’s never looked back.
Throughout his time at Ladbrook UK, Michael has moved through various roles, gaining experience in sales and management along the way. Today, as the Commercial Director, he's proud to be part of the leadership team that's helped the company grow and succeed. "I wanted a career, not just a job, and that’s what I’ve found at Ladbrook UK," Michael says. His commitment to the business has played a huge part in his progression, and now he's central to the team driving the company forward.
Michael’s role as Commercial Director
As Commercial Director, Michael’s role is broad and constantly evolving. Even when facing challenges his focus remains the same, making sure the company runs smoothly while building strong customer relationships. Michael oversees sales, new enquiries, and quotes, regularly meeting with new and existing clients across the UK. As well as managing these responsibilities, he works closely with the management team on everything from production to purchasing.A big part of Michael’s role also involves working alongside the Managing Director to plan the company’s future and ensure ongoing growth. He’s also deeply involved with the accounts, liaising with the company's accountants to keep everything on track. "It’s a varied role,” Michael says, “but that’s what I enjoy about it.”

Outside of work
Michael enjoys carp fishing and spending quiet weekends by the water. He also values time with his wife, their two-year-old son Elijah, and their dogs, Shadow and Ralph. Watching Elijah grow and explore the world is one of his greatest joys. “We love getting outdoors for walks by lakes and rivers,” Michael says.
